I worked at Heublein for nine years, and Alastair was one of the most memorable people I had the privilege to work with. His sense of humor was always evident, and he could brighten up any day. One of my most vivid memories of Alastair is his knack for rhyming for any occasion. An excerpt sampling on the occasion of Don Piehl's retirement: "... It's time to close, with seriousness, And show him we revere, And say 'farewell' to Don and Ann, and 'thanks for being here.' 'Twas brillig and the slithy toves, Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogroves, And the mome raths outgrabe.' He also wrote a "Puzzle Corner" for our Spirited Grapevine" newsletter. Fare thee well, dear Alastair.
