Reading his name grabbed my attention but when I read his age I thought no, that cannot be the man I knew because he would not be that old! So, in my mind's eye Phil will always be young, smiling and laughing while working very hard!

It was the late 60's - early 70's when I worked as a waitress at the restaurant. I was a single mom working towards my undergraduate degree and Phil plus his father were great cheerleaders for me. No one ever had better bosses in terms of support and spot on advise.

The restaurant was almost always busy and when Phil arrived, it was apparent his parents were glad and relieved to see him. It was like some extra bright lights were suddenly turned on. Phil would immediately start working along side his father and the result was a fabulous pizza that sadly is no longer available. I often admired Phil for his extraordinary capacity to work so long and hard with a genuinally happy demeaner.

The Rotondo family "type" is no longer commonly found in our neighborhoods. I consider myself very fortunate to have had a close relationship with Phil and his family. They were a blessing to me that I will always cherish.

In conclusion, I hope Phil's sister is doing well.

Sincerely,

Beverly Ferry Miller

Phil was located a few cubicles away from me, but in another group, so I had no direct working relationship with him. But occassionally, I would hear Phil and his sidekicks back there laughing it up, and I would find myself joining in -  even though the exact source of the laughter was a mystery to me. It was always Phil's contagious laugh that got me going. And all through the years whenever our paths crossed, he always had a smile. Simply said, he was a very nice guy.
