			<description><![CDATA[So sorry to hear of Evans' passing.

He was such a gentle soul and I remember one time in particular.  He was speaking to me regarding my confirmation at the time when I was probably ~17 and we were talking about John Lennon's murder.  I remember having a long conversation and how passionate he was around the talk of "human life being so fragile."  And then he gave a very moving sermon. 

He was and is a great man.  Thoughts of course.

	Many of us old folks of the Canton Center Church remember the chili suppers, proceeded by the sledding and Christmas tree bonfires on the property across Cherry Brook. Evans cleverly named that hilly field &quot;Church Hill Downs.&quot; And then there were the potluck dinners, usually following services on select Sundays. It seems that we at CCC had great appetites and eagerly went for seconds. Evans jokingly renamed our congregation &quot;The Church of the Second Helping&quot;! He was my youth group advisor, officiated ay my confirmation, weddings, and the baptisms and confirmations of my two sons.  I shared many years in team ministry with him at Canton Center Church where he encouraged me to follow my calling in ministry.  He was a friend and confidant. 			<description><![CDATA[Just heard of Evans passing earlier today. My heart is broken.
He was one of those people you thought would live forever.
Being a member of the Canton Center Congregational Church and having him as my minister, was more than a pleasure. I spoke to him when my mother passed away, when our daughter Christina was getting married and when there was any trouble with our son Tony. 
Evans was more than a minister. He was a friend and will be missed. 
My prayers and love go out to the Sealand family.
