Clare is someone who I am so happy that I got a chance to know and be a part of her life. She had an incredibly warm and kind spirit. Some of my favorite memories of high school are from playing JV hockey with Clare. When I joined the team my freshman year, I was very quiet and shy, and so much about that first year of high school was uncertain and challenging. Clare had a way of making everyone around her feel included and welcome. I remember being a part of that team and get to know Clare really made me feel a part of the community. Clare always had positive things to say or ways to make everyone laugh. She quickly became a friend that I looked up to and respected. From dancing and fooling around in the locker room, to designing crazy t-shirts, or just sitting around in the old Baxter building before a late night practice, she was a friend who always brought positivity and fun into my life. She also brought incredible energy into everything she did. It showed a lot in her improving hockey skills, but more importantly in her everyday life and the relationships with the people around her. Since graduating, getting to see Clare around Simsbury was always great. Whether we just happened to run into each other or were getting coffee or breakfast, we could always pick up a conversation right where we left off. She was such a bright, friendly person --truly special-- and I will miss her very much. I am so sad to hear that she is no longer with us. Story shared: Kritical Mass Groupies

I'm having trouble picking a story to share as there are so many to choose from and no story could truly encapsulate how truly wonderful she was. I guess my best bet is to talk about how many of my dad's concerts she went to with me. (My dad is in a band called Kritial Mass and we were known to be KM groupies and often had the temporary tattoos to prove it). Clare came to quite a few of their gigs and made each and every single one so much fun. From the time we both tried to hide under the sink in the ladies room (a poorly thought out plan to scare my sister) to the time we wrote fake reservations for parties of one in the ledger at Mackenzie's (we didn't want anyone to reserve a table for someone who wasn't coming- looking back, I think the hostess could have guessed that the Bobby Pancake reservation wasn't real no matter the size). The thing that stands out to me most from those concerts was how Clare's kindness and glove of life affected everyone there. She made a lasting impression on my whole family and their friends as well. She made sure my dad knew how great she thought the music was. She always came bearing Rosedale pies for my parents. Clare's happiness was infectious and I know my whole family will cherish those memories forever. As heartbroken as I am right now, I am so grateful for her and every single moment I got to spend with her.

Siobhan, I remember you well from years you spent growing up with Jiffi. She told me of your loss and I felt compelled to write and offer support. I know well how the shock and grief of a young woman's tragic death can cripple a mother...my wonderful daughter died unexpectedly also at the age of 23. I was shocked to get the news from Malinda earlier in the week. As many of you might know, I had traveled to Vermont last week, and only returned to Bedford (15 minutes outside of Boston) on Friday morning. Now checking my schedule for next week to see if I can make it down to little Connecticut in the coming days. Clare was always a nice respectable young woman.
